Jimmie's Story

After gaining 35 years' experience in the restaurant / bar business, Jimmie finally became the proprietor of his own establishment in early 2015 when he purchased Buffalo Barbeque Wings in Jackson, MI.  While that was a major step in the right direction, Jimmie’s dream has always been to create and serve fresh, from scratch, home cooked meals.

Fortunately, Jimmie met Tommy, a chef with 16 years of culinary experience and a passion for developing original creations using market fresh ingredients. Soon thereafter, their combined vision and desire for excellence started the process to establish Jimmie’s Smokehouse.

Since opening our doors in the summer of 2017, Jimmie’s Smokehouse proudly features only US Choice beef, pork and chicken products, carefully prepared and slowly smoked, using our own secret recipe and old world cooking methods. We then add farm fresh vegetables and accompaniments, prepared from scratch here in our kitchen to complete our dinner plates. The result is real, down-home flavor that will thrill your taste buds.

To complement your meal, Jimmie has carefully selected 29 tempting, all American bourbons including traditional corn mashes, high rye-content whiskies and wheat-based recipes to satisfy everyone’s palate. And, for you beer aficionados, we have 29 drafts on tap, from lagers to pilsners, including IPA’s and local brews.

Our goal is to provide each guest with a tasty, high quality, home cooked meal and a wide variety of premium beverages, all at a fair price.
